Milk Teeth
Photographs printed on plastic film, acrylic frames
ENGLISH
Milla Flyger explores themes surrounding the connection between photography and memory. In Milk Teeth she is processing the long lost archive of her mother’s childhood photos – a childhood inflicted by trauma. Flyger always photographed her mother from a daughter’s perspective, in Milk Teeth, we see a reversal of roles. Separated from the moment the photo was taken, Flyger reveals her presence in the post production through the act of digital manipulation.
The trauma her mother endured reflected on her own childhood and reworking the archive is an attempt to process the generational trauma that runs in the family.
