Modularity through the lens of upcycling
The purpose of this project is to explore solutions in modularity of upcycled materials. Rather than create a strictly defined furniture design a set of building blocks. These fragments of furniture would be able to be redefined after need and situation. The material would also have to be universal enough to be obtained from a large set of different original objects. Made from discarded office desks they can possibly be configured into combinations that could be interpreted as furniture. The building blocks are made to be explorative and curious in its process.
To summarize, this project is meant to explore the possibilities of objects at the end of their life cycle. By adding new elements to unify and give them new abilities with an open interpretation of assembly. This project although somewhat connected to reality needs modification to accommodate the requirement needed to have a raison d’etre.
