No.1 Boda
Måns have studied three years at the Bachelors of Wood Oriented Furniture Design. His design is mostly shown in wooden furniture, where he put a lot of attention to the details.
During this exam work, he has designed a family of wooden chairs with a brief from the Swedish furniture company Swedese. The demand was a family of a chair, an armchair and a barstool, all being stackable. The aim was for the residential market and the contract market, such as cafes and restaurants. The design language should have decorative and organic details, but also fit in many different environments with a large group of chairs.
The design of the backrest connects all these different chairs as a family of wooden chairs. These two prototypes are the proposal of the regular chair. One is treated with white pigmented Osmo and one with blue pigmented linseed oil. The chairs is in solid wood, birch and ash, and they are manufactured by Måns. The first interaction you have with a chair is when you pull it out from the table. That first interaction should be a positive feeling and signalize sustainability and good craftsmanship.
