Colours
An exploration of colour schemes in relation to human well-being
The project explores colour schemes in a waiting room of a dental office. During the project the colours have been investigated through free experimentation which has resulted in a tool or method to investigate the composition, combinations and proportions of the colours in relation to each other. The tool consists of cubes of different sizes and colours and can be used as a method to physically investigate colours in rooms with similar principles as a physical model. The complexity and full potential of colour is experienced through the tool as the three-dimensional shapes can show the colour in both light and shadow. The three colour schemes are the result of an investigation and is here supplemented with visualizations to gain further understanding of how it can be experienced in the dental office in question. The project is meant to challenge our preconceived notions of which colours are considered appropriate for healthcare spaces and open up more colourful options that can lead to a better hospital experience.
