Bead Body Chapel
In her final exam work Naomi Sussex examines the therapeutic properties and inherently tactile nature of beads. As single and collective units they hold both spiritual and functional value that can provide physical and emotional comfort, whilst still retaining a sense of mystery. This duality of purpose and meaning is materialised in the shifting surface and pattern of the beads, which have been individually cast and coated to respond to changes in light and temperature.
