The scenography of the kaleidoscope – an experience in space is about a designed situation: a physical place, something that invites the visitor to participate, and the temporality of the experience.
Studies within set design and investigations linked to “kaleidoscopic experiences” resulted in three installations, two smaller and one main installation called REALITY PRODUCER. Together they created the designed situation displayed in the exhibition THE COLOUR IN EVERTHING / THE CONSENSUS OF REALITY at the gallery ROTOR2, in March 2023.
The REALITY PRODUCER, a board with a mirror-water-installation created a reflection on the ceiling of the room. Visitors were invited to explore the installation and due to the movement of the visitors’ bodies, the reflection changed. Even heartbeats created an effect in the reflection.
The visitor became a co-designer. As an acting human body, the visitor influenced the situation and brought a narrative, which means that the experience changed depending on who faced it.
